PHOTO & PRINTING GUIDE

How to turn family photos into coloring pages

A good coloring page begins with a clear photo. Use these tips to choose a picture, understand what the conversion can do, and make a small print for the kids to color.

1. Choose faces you can see clearly

Use a sharp photo in even lighting. The whole face, hair and chin should be visible. For one person, a head-and-shoulders portrait is a good starting point. Avoid sunglasses, heavy filters, blur and strong shadows across the face.

In Vistuma, your image must be at least 768 pixels on each side, no larger than 40 megapixels, and no more than 20 MB. JPG, PNG and WebP are supported. Your browser prepares a smaller copy before upload. A larger file alone does not guarantee more facial detail.

2. Keep a family group close together

For a family coloring page, choose one photo of two, three or four people together. Move closer when taking the picture, or crop away unnecessary scenery first. Check that everyone’s eyes, nose and mouth remain visible when you zoom in. A full-body group far from the camera is less suitable than a close-up group.

This version uses the people together in one photo. It does not combine separate portraits into a family scene. Upload only photos you have permission to use, including permission from a parent or guardian for a child.

3. Know what changes in the coloring page

Vistuma aims to keep a similar arrangement of people, clothing and expressions while adding a different setting. Backgrounds rotate among mountains, beach, zoo, forest, desert, garden, space exhibit and castle gardens. A specific background cannot currently be selected, and repeats are possible.

Image generation can simplify or change faces, anatomy and proportions. Check the before-and-after examples, then compare your own result with the original before printing. New outfits, new activities, exact identity matching and multi-page books are not included in this version.

4. Download and print at a sensible size

When a result is ready, download the PNG or choose Print / save PDF. Use your browser’s print preview, choose Fit, and leave a margin so edges are not cut off. Current pages are square, 768 × 768 pixels. They are best for small, casual coloring activities; enlarging them to a whole sheet may make lines look softer. Saving as PDF does not increase the image resolution.

Do a small test print before making multiple copies. Once the page looks right, bring out the pencils or crayons. The current version does not include an on-screen coloring editor.

5. Save your result before it expires

During testing, results and job records expire within 24 hours of submission. Return in the same browser to access your private session, and download pages you want to keep. Clearing cookies can lose access. Uploaded photos are not used for model training or public examples. Read the privacy details for the full retention and cleanup policy.
